SCALP CONCERNS
A healthy scalp is the foundation of healthy hair, yet it's often the most neglected part of any grooming routine. FLAKING, TIGHTNESS, ITCH AND IRRITATION are usually signs that your scalp's natural balance has been disrupted — whether that's excess sebum clogging follicles and feeding oil-prone flare-ups, or a compromised moisture barrier leaving skin dry, sensitized and prone to flaking. Harsh shampoos, hard water, stress and environmental aggressors can all throw the scalp microbiome off balance, weakening its ability to defend against irritation and making dryness, itch and inflammation harder to shift. Left untreated, an unbalanced scalp doesn't just feel uncomfortable — it can lead to weaker, thinner-looking hair over time.
The key to a calmer, more comfortable scalp isn't stripping it back — it's restoring balance. Our SCALP TREATMENT is formulated to target the root cause of sensitivity, working to rebalance the microbiome, strengthen the moisture barrier and reduce the dryness and itch that come with an unsettled scalp. For those battling dryness, tightness and flaking, our MOISTURISING SHAMPOO & MOISTURISING CONDITIONER replenish lost hydration and reinforce the skin's natural defenses. For oil-prone scalps dealing with excess sebum and congestion, our OIL CONTROL SHAMPOO AND OIL CONTROL LOTION work to regulate oil production without over-drying — helping bring the scalp back to its natural, balanced state. Both hair types (dry & oily) are followed with VITAMAN’S SCALP TREATMENT.
For best results, apply SCALP TREATMENT directly onto a clean, towel-dried scalp. We highly recommend massage that actually moves the scalp, rather than sliding over it, as it gently stretches the tissue and muscles surrounding each follicle, encouraging blood vessels to dilate and deliver a fresh supply of oxygen and nutrients to the follicle base. Using your fingertips, work in firm, deliberate pressure across the scalp — front to back, section by section — allowing the skin to shift over the skull rather than your fingers simply gliding through hair. This deeper, more rigorous massage technique helps ease scalp tension, supports a balanced environment for the microbiome and enhances how effectively the treatment can work — leaving the scalp calmer, more comfortable, and primed for healthier hair growth.
DANDRUFF is often mistaken for dryness, when it's typically driven by the opposite — an overgrowth of Malassezia yeast fueled by excess sebum and an imbalanced scalp microbiome. This leads to faster skin cell turnover, visible flaking, itchiness and irritation. Because stripping the scalp only worsens the imbalance, effective care means rebalancing oil production and the microbiome, not just masking the flakes. Our OIL CONTROL SHAMPOO AND OIL CONTROL LOTION work to regulate excess sebum at the source, while Scalp Treatment targets the microbiome imbalance directly — together helping restore a calmer, flake-free scalp.

THE SOLUTION : SCALP TREATMENT + MASSAGE
How to Massage Your Scalp
- Start clean. Apply Scalp Treatment to clean hair.
- Section it out. Work in a grid — front, crown, sides, then back — so no area is missed.
- Sink in. Place fingertips (not nails) firmly against the scalp.
- Move the skin, not your fingers. Press and shift the scalp itself in small circular or back-and-forth motions, letting it move over the skull rather than sliding through hair.
- Apply real pressure. Firm, deliberate pressure — deep enough to feel the tissue shift — stimulates circulation more effectively than a light rub.
- Take your time. Massage for at least 5+ minutes, then leave the treatment on for 15 – 20mins allowing the treatment to absorb fully (then rinse). Doing it while watching TV is a great way to improve your scalp’s health.
- You can even sleep with it in and rinse in the morning.
- You can also use a small amount like a styling product during the day, but remember, MASSAGE PLUS SCALP TREATMENT together is the secret.
- Repeat regularly. Consistency is key — daily or every other day for best results.
